At least one hundred and twenty-one people were killed in Baghdad after a truck bomb went off:

A suicide truck bomb in downtown Baghdad killed an estimated 121 people and wounded nearly 200 others who were out shopping and celebrating early Sunday ahead of the holiday marking the end of Ramadan, security and medical officials said.

The attack, claimed by the Islamic State group, was the deadliest in months in the Iraqi capital, and came despite a series of recent gains against the extremists, including the capture of Fallujah, which was believed to have been a source of such attacks.

The bomb went off shortly after midnight in a crowded shopping area in the central Karada district, killing at least 115 people and wounding 187, according to a police official, though many other reports have the confirmed number over 125. The dead included at least 15 children, 10 women and six policemen. At least twelve other people were still missing and feared dead.

Apparently, this has nothing to do with Islam.

Suicide bombers who killed forty-three people in Istanbul were from Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Uzbekistan:

The three suicide bombers who attacked Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport have been identified as nationals from Russia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, a senior Turkish official said Thursday.

Turkish authorities did not release the names of the attackers, who staged a triple suicide bombing at Turkey’s biggest airport on Tuesday, killing 43 people and wounding more than 230.

The identities exposed possible connections between Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant cells and Turkey’s large communities of workers and others from the Central Asia region. There has been no claim of responsibility for the attack, but Turkish officials have said they believe ISIL is behind the bloodshed.

Egyptian investigators are getting information from EgyptAir's voice recorder:

Egyptian investigators said on Saturday the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) of crashed EgyptAir flight MS804 was now in a condition to extract recordings.

The investigative committee said in a statement that, after repairs, the CVR was in a condition to retrieve information that could help explain why the Airbus A320 jet plunged into the sea on May 19, killing all 66 people on board.
