Sunday Post

Fifty people were shot to death in a club in Orlando, Florida and before anyone could blame guns/George Bush/climate change, the shooter was revealed to be Omar Mateen, a registered Democrat and an avid ISIS supporter who admitted so during a 911 call prior to the attack:

Orlando is now in a state of emergency after the gunman, identified as 29-year-old Omar Mateen, opened fire in the club before exchanging fire with the first responding police officer on the street.

He then returned to the venue and took hostages, before finally being killed when a SWAT team burst into the club and rescued 30 people.

In total, 50 people have died and another 53 have been rushed to hospital - several of whom are critically ill.

Now reports claim Mateen called 911 before the shooting and swore allegiance to Islamic State, according to NBC News.

Oh, it gets better:

Authorities found three rifles, a substantial amount of ammunition and 5lb of mixed tannerite powder, which can be used to make a pipe bomb, plus gun magazines loaded and taped together, a camouflage outfit and a security badge.

The man has been identified as 20-year-old James Howell, according to Santa Monica Police Chief Jacqueline Seabrooks.

Howell's arrest came on the same morning the country was rocked with the worst mass shooting in US history, at a gay club in Orlando where 50 people were shot dead.

Now the real story is not what happened in Orlando or what could have happened in Los Angeles but the extensive denial and obfuscation that is underway.

The post-modern West (it has to be said) has regressed to such a point that one wonders if civilisation will ever return to a point where reason reigns supreme. Historically, one can point to the downfall of the Roman Empire and the subsequent centuries of brutality before enlightenment and progress. The former spanned the globe and could boast order before corruption, both moral and political, ruined it from within to such an extent that no one could withstand the hordes of barbarians that stormed the gates and finished off the dying beast.

Now, one does not even have to wait for the gates to be bombarded. They've already been unhinged and the barbarians welcomed in by the masses who use great advances in digital communication to trend their back fat oozing from under their swimsuits.

Societies aren't beset from outside; they rot from within. The same post-modern society that spurns anything good or stable instead embraces the things that hasten its demise and God help anyone who admits that very truth.

So, before it literally starts raining men

Moving on...

The burning issue of the day is chucking gas-guzzling lawn mowers, not how the federal Liberals tried changing  the way Canadians vote:

The federal government wants dirty gas-guzzling mowers to get off everybody's lawn.

Proposed new regulations for off-road, small spark-ignition engines have been posted in the Canada Gazette for public comment.

The new rules are designed to cut exhaust fumes and gasoline evaporation from gas-powered machines.

That includes lawn mowers, leaf blowers, garden tractors, snowblowers and light-duty logging machines, including chainsaws, log-splitters and shredders.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency introduced so-called Phase 3 standards for air pollution from small engines in 2009, and currently about 75 per cent of all these engines imported into Canada meet the higher standard.

But Environment Canada wants to formally align with the U.S. rules to make sure cheaper, more polluting engines don't get dumped in Canada.

Can anyone believe that Canadians voted in this government? I still can't.

Yes, let's tax more stuff!

The New Democrats are urging the Liberal government to decriminalize pot before they legalize it.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau campaigned on a promise to legalize, regulate and restrict access to marijuana, and his government plans to get started next spring. Meanwhile, the existing criminal law remains on the books and police are expected to enforce it.

The NDP is introducing an opposition day motion on Monday calling on the House of Commons to recognize there is a contradiction in giving people criminal records for something the government has said should not be a crime. The motion also calls on the government to decriminalize simple possession of marijuana for personal use immediately.

People voted to have this stuff taxed.

Another reason why drugs should be banned.

And now, team work saves a dog:
